Once the firstborn of all Egyptian households was stricken, God instructed Moses and Aaron to be gone and the bless the Lord.  The Egyptian people, weary from the plagues and losses, urged the Israelites to go, and Israel easily plundered the Egyptians, taking their jewels and fine metals.  A mixed multitude left Egypt, over six hundred thousand men plus their families, and a great deal of livestock.  Their sojourn in Egypt had been 430 years, and they were now leaving with a solemn observance that would be commemorated for years to come as a reminder of God’s deliverance of His people.

God reminded them of the Passover regulations and even added some regulations regarding strangers partaking of the passover.  And the Scriptures report,

Exodus 12:50–51 (NKJV)

50 Thus all the children of Israel did; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did. 51 And it came to pass, on that very same day, that the Lord brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt according to their armies.

Israel had stayed the course, believed in God, stood up to an evil ruler, had followed their Godly rulers, and had seen the delivering hand of God bring them out of the place of bondage.  Wherever you are today, and whatever you are facing in your life, be sure to stand firm in your belief that God is in control.  No matter the odds against your success, no matter the enemy’s strength, no matter the volume of his onslaught, know that your God is able to do amazing things.  Get ready to go, the Exodus begins now!
