The over-arching principles in these laws relate to the holiness of the priests and the utensils upon which they are offered and with which they are prepared.  After the sacrifices are prepared and the appropriate portions are eaten by the priests, then the pans, forks, tables, pots, etc., were to be washed, scrubbed, or broken to remove the sacred offering from them.

Any time we offer our time, our talents, our gifts in the service of the king, we should first consecrate ourselves before God and approach Him holy and set apart.  While we may be finite and mortal, and sometimes sinful, there is still a standard to which we must adhere.  If we are to serve God, we should not take our opportunities lightly.  Instead, treat every opportunity to minister as if the Holy God of Eternity is the subject of your worship and service.  He must receive a holy sacrifice and holy priests, or ministers, to do His bidding.  He deserves our very best!
