Moses received the law of Moses at Sinai, but then rehearsed the Law (Decalogue) and the possessing of the land East of the Jordan, just before sending them forward to the Promised Land. The Ten Commandments are reviewed here, and then Moses reminds them that God gave them on Mt. Sinai by writing them on two tablets of stone in the midst of the fire, cloud, and darkness.
The people of Israel were very thoroughly prepared by Moses for their possession of Canaan. Through many steps, the Israelites were reminded of what was necessary to be able to enter and defeat the enemies in the Promised Land. It is important to be prepared prior to entering into the purpose of God for your life or for a moment. This can come in the form of Bible study and prayer, formal education, mentoring, etc. Either way, God expects us to get ready when He has a great work for us to do, and then that great work will be done with excellence, and it will glorify Him!
