The Lord instructed Moses to install Joshua as his replacement. The two of them presented themselves at the tabernacle. The pillar of cloud stood above the door. The Lord told Moses he would soon die, and that the Israelites would rise and play the harlot with foreign gods. They will break covenant with God, and His anger would be aroused. They would be destroyed because of the evil they had done. Moses wrote a song about the situation that would be a reminder of their fall.
Moses inaugurated Joshua and told him to be strong and of good courage. When Moses completed writing all the words of the Law in a book, he commanded the Levites to put it in the ark of the covenant.
Moses then instructed them to gather all the elders that he could speak to them. He warned them of their coming apostacy.
This story shows that prophecy is a very real thing. God spoke to Moses about the future rebellion of Israel, and, most definitely, that was a true prophecy. Listen to the voice of God and He will speak wisdom and truth into your life!
