The summary of the conquests of the last few chapters is presented in this passage. It tells of all the kings and lands that Moses led the Israelites to defeat. It talks of how they defeated the giants and the armies, and how Joshua divided the land among the Israelites as an inheritance. I will not take the time to list all the kings and lands here, as they were accounted for in the past few blogs. However, it is important to see what a good job the Israelites did at chronicling their history and celebrating the power of God and the victories He brought through His mighty power.
As Christians, we should remember the things that have transpired in our lives. We should mark milestones and celebrate victories. It is just this type of celebration and commemoration that builds faith and reminds us of times when God delivered us and that He can do it again. Years ago, I sang a song with a group at a church I served entitled, “He’ll Do It Again.” The words went something like this, “He’ll do it again, yes, He’ll do it again. You may be down to the wire near the deadline. Hasn’t He always come through for You? He’s the same now as then. You may not know how, you may not know when, but He’ll do it again!” When you faith seems weak, REMEMBER!
