Caleb moves to take the land of Hebron after receiving the rights to the land from Joshua. He drove out the Anakim, which were giant people, then proceeded to take Debir as well. He offered his daughter in marriage to anyone who would attack Kirjath Sephere and take it, so Othniel did so. She persuaded him to ask her father for a field, and then she asked him for springs with which to water the fields. Therefore, Caleb and his family had their inheritance among the tribe of Judah.
This 45 year promise was finally fulfilled, as Caleb received the inheritance that he had been promised long ago. Also, Caleb was an old man, 85 years of age. At this age, he could have easily waited in the wings and taken whatever inheritance was thrown his way. Instead, he took his mountain and forged a life for his family and himself. No matter you age, be bold enough to ask God for a mountain and believe Him for victory, even as you take that mountain!
