David takes time to thank God for using him for His purposes and blessing him. He also thanked Him for making covenant with him. David then went to battle against the Philistines, the Moabites, the Zobahites, the Syrians, and more. He destroyed many Philistines, made the Moabites servants, hamstrung the horses of the Zobahites, and killed many of the Syrians. Toi, king of Hamath, congratulated David through his servant Joram, who brought him gifts. David dedicated the gold and silver and gifts to the Lord, and established an even greater name for himself among the lands. David preserved him everywhere he went.
David moved from the establishment of the Davidic covenant right back into conquests of surrounding nations. He subdued many kings and small kingdoms, and made an even greater name for himself and Israel. When you are in covenant with God, He goes before you and makes your path prosperous!
