The third leader of the Levites with duties in the tabernacle was Merari. The Merarites were responsible for the structure and foundation of the tabernacle. The pillars, boards, sockets. etc. that held the tabernacle together. Ministers and Christians need to determine that they will build the Church on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ, and use sound building materials in its construction. We build upon the Word, prayer, sound doctrine, and Godly leadership. When we protect the foundation and structure of the Church, then the Church will be healthy, strong, and able to stand the test of time.
Additionally in this passage, the Levites 30 years of age and older, qualified to serve in the tabernacle, were counted, and numbered 8,580.
