The Ephraimites did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer, but turned them into forced laborers.  Manasseh did not drive out the Canaanites from Megiddo and its towns.  Manasseh also had one grandson of Joseph who only had daughters.  They were provided an inheritance as well, which was not normal procedure.

God instructed all the Israelites to drive out the foreigners in the land, to “cleanse” the land.  However, the Israelites were unwilling to drive them all out, and they were thorns in the side of the Israelites from that time forward.  Also, the daughters of Manasseh were included in the inheritance even though they did not have the right to be included.  God’s kingdom invites all to come to the inheritance of eternity, regardless of race, creed, color, or socio-economic status.  Thank God we can all come to Calvary equally!
