The Lion Image
Proverbs 28:1 (NKJV)
28 The wicked flee when no one pursues,
But the righteous are bold as a lion.
God did not intend for us to live in fear.
Many of us are not naturally wired to be bold or vocal with our faith.
God provided for us to have power to be bold even in spite of our personality or temperament.
God gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:4–8 (NKJV)
Baptism (Immersion) in the Spirit
4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
The comparison between baptism in water and baptism in the Spirit
These were believers, and the Lord promised them the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Baptism of Faith
6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.
Being empowered with the Holy Spirit is a gift that is received through faith.
The Lord and His Holy Spirit are gentlemen, and God will not force you to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
However, God longs to give you this Holy gift. He simply asks that you seek for the baptism in the Holy Spirit by faith.
Baptism of Power
8 But you shall receive when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The Power of the Holy Spirit.
Power over Sin
Power over the Enemy
Power to Heal
Power to Witness
Baptism of Boldness
Acts 4:31 (NKJV) And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Boldness Through the Spirit is God’s will and part of the power of the Spirit.
