Johoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign in Judah, and only reigned three months. He did evil in the sight of the Lord. Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came up against Jerusalem and beseiged it. The king of Judah went out to him, and Nebuchadnezzer took him captive.
This brief account shows once more how the kings of Judah helped seal the doom of the nation. Jehoiachin followed the example of his fathers who did evil, and he was judged quickly by God. When we do not worship the true God, but rather idols, we will be judged. Serve the true God, and Him alone!
