Prayer Psalm
Psalm 47:5 God has gone up with a shout, The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
7 For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.
5 God will make His glory obvious
The trumpets and the shouts at Jericho
The trumpet sound when the camp of Israel was to move.
The shout precedes His glory. He inhabits the praises of His people
The trumpet will announce His coming again. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, the trumpet will sound.
6 We must sing to Him in praise
Sing praises to the King.
We should sing a song worthy of the King, the best, the most praising, the most worshipful music God deserves
(Sing praise songs based on Scripture)
7 We must sing clearly of our Great King
Sing with understanding.
Sing with a powerful knowledge of Who God is.
Sing solid theological material
Know the King, identify the King, worship the King
8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.
9 The princes of the people have gathered together, The people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.
8 The Lord is King over all!
He is not the future King, He is the present King.
Worry is unfounded, for He is already King.
He sits on the throne now, and is in charge of all.
9 Gather together to praise Him, Because the Great Exalted God is the Protector of the Earth. Exalt Him!!!
We can gather together in His presence and be at ease, in peace, in safety.
He shields us, and He owns all the shields of the earth.
No army, no enemy can defend itself against Him
He is sovereign and reigns above all! Worship Him and no other!!!
I sing praises to your name oh Lord, for your name is great and greatly to be praised!
