Jonah 3:1–4 (NKJV)
3:1 Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, 2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.” 3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent. 4 And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk. Then he cried out and said, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!”
Obedience – The Lord spoke to Jonah and he went to Ninevah
Opportunity – Ninevah was a great city with endless opportunity for evangelism
Oracle – Jonah proclaimed the word of the Lord to Ninevah, an oracle of judgment
God may send you where you do not want to go. God may give you a message to share that you would rather not speak. God may give you an audience you do not even like. But when God tells you to preach in Ninevah, you should obey, take the opportunity, and deliver the oracle so that souls may be saved. God sends you to Ninevah for a reason. Preach!
