Walking Wisely

John 7:1 (NKJV)

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.

John 7:1

This short, simple passage demonstrates the discernment of Christ. He stayed in Galilee, because He knew that the Jews in Judea sought to kill Him. Galilee was in the Northern territory of Israel, including the Sea of Galilee. Judea was the Southern territory of Israel and contained Jerusalem. This passage truly emphasizes the need for wisdom and for discernment. Don’t let your boldness negate the good you will do. Boldness is good and necessary at times, but discernment more so. You can outrun the plan of God if you do not think things through. Let God lead, and be bold when He needs you to be bold, quiet when He needs you to be quiet. Above all else, be wise and discerning.
