Praise to God for His Everlasting Mercy
1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
2 Let Israel now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
3 Let the house of Aaron now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
4 Let those who fear the LORD now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
- Lord, I know that You are good. You are all good, and nothing but good.
- I give You thanks for Your grace, mercy, and care for me and mine.
- Your grace is eternal, and I thank You!
- Let every soul on the face of the earth say, “His mercy endures forever.”
- I fear You and I call You LORD!
5 I called on the LORD in distress;
The LORD answered me and set me in a broad place.
6 The LORD is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
7 The LORD is for me among those who help me;
Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me.
8 It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in princes.
- Lord, come to me in my distress. Show me Your grace by putting my feet in a wide spot, where I can walk freely.
- Be on my side, and keep me whole in the midst of my distress.
- Lord, when people walk with me and love me, I will praise You.
- When my enemies seek to harm me, I will call on You.
- Rain down judgement on those who would harm me.
- I will trust in You, O LORD, to protect me and to keep me from harm.
- When I cannot trust my friends, my family, or my enemies, I know that I can trust in You.
- You never forsake me in my trouble.
10 All nations surrounded me,
But in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
11 They surrounded me,
Yes, they surrounded me;
But in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
12 They surrounded me like bees;
They were quenched like a fire of thorns;
For in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
13 You pushed me violently, that I might fall,
But the LORD helped me.
14 The LORD is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.
- When I am surrounded on every side I will not fear, for I know that in Your name I will be victorious.
- I will call on Your name and be saved.
- When they come around me like a swarm of bees, please disperse them and quench their sting upon me.
- When they press against me and try to crush me, help me and stop the pressures of this life.
- You are my strength. Be the source of my song and save me, O God.
- You are there for me every day. Trust me to see my way through and live victoriously!
