Keys to Fruitfulness (Colossians 1:9 – 14)

I.  Colossians 1:9–14 (NKJV)
9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Prayer and Accountability
Knowledge and Wisdom
Spiritual Understanding

II. 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

Walking Worthy and Pleasing to God
Constantly Seeking Deeper Knowledge
Empowered by the Holy Spirit (Might)
Patience and Long-suffering

III. 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Being and Living Saved
Understanding and Appreciating the Sacrifice of Christ

Individual Piety
Knowledge of the Word
A Meaningful Prayer Life
A Relational Connection to God
Ministry
Financial Responsibility & Generosity

V.  Matthew 3:7–9 (NKJV)

7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, 9 and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

Bear Fruit or Others Will Rise Up Who Can Be Fruitful
