Let God Arise! Psalm 68:1–6 (NKJV)

Sermon notes from Sunday AM service message by Dr. Greg Sloop, Lead Pastor of the Kannapolis Church of God, Kannapolis, NC
Psalm 68:1–6 (NKJV)

Let God Arise

1 Let God arise,
Let His enemies be scattered;
Let those also who hate Him flee before Him.

Let God Arise

In Your Life
In Your Home
In Your World

Driving, Melting, Perishing

2 As smoke is driven away,
So drive them away;
As wax melts before the fire,
So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

The Powerful Presence of God

He Drives Away Those Who Hate Him
The Wicked Melt and Perish Before God’s Presence
This is the God we serve. He is not some weak anemic, pathetic presence. He is not just the Lamb, but He is also the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
His very presence drives out evil and dismays the efforts of the enemy.
His breath drives the smoke of Satan’s confusion away.
His gaze melts the sticky bondage of the enemy
His word causes the wicked and their schemes to perish!
Lift up the name of the Lord our God!!

The Need for Thankfulness and Praise

3 But let the righteous be glad;
Let them rejoice before God;
Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.

What is your attitude about your life and circumstances?
Where is your head? Your heart?
Regardless of your circumstances, God is still the same God.

He is worthy of praise.
He is worthy of trust
He is worthy of worship

So, rejoice exceedingly, be glad!

4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name Yah,
And rejoice before Him.

Sing
Extol
Rejoice

The Mighty Father

5 A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
Is God in His holy habitation.

Father
Defender
God

6 God sets the solitary in families;
He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;
But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

God will put you in a family, a church, a group. He will give back that which was taken. He will provide for you what you cannot provide for yourself.
He breaks the bondage of the bound and blesses them
Rebellion will lead to dry places and unhappy confines.

Takeaway Points

God is greater than any situation you are experiencing right now.
God is able to change your circumstance
The change begins when we trust and praise God for His power and blessings in our lives.
Praise Your Father and Defender!!
