Zechariah 10:7–12 (NKJV)

7 Those of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man,

And their heart shall rejoice as if with wine.

Yes, their children shall see it and be glad;

Their heart shall rejoice in the Lord.

8 I will whistle for them and gather them,

For I will redeem them;

And they shall increase as they once increased.

9 “I will sow them among the peoples,

And they shall remember Me in far countries;

They shall live, together with their children,

And they shall return.

God is here speaking of His own sowing and reaping.  He has sown His unruly children into the nations, and they still remember Him in those far countries.  Yet He will reap them and bring them back to their land and make them mighty again.

10 I will also bring them back from the land of Egypt,

And gather them from Assyria.

I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon,

Until no more room is found for them.

11 He shall pass through the sea with affliction,

And strike the waves of the sea:

All the depths of the River shall dry up.

Then the pride of Assyria shall be brought down,

And the scepter of Egypt shall depart.

12 “So I will strengthen them in the Lord,

And they shall walk up and down in His name,”

Says the Lord.

In this passage, the Lord names names of the places from which He will deliver them and the places where He will restore them.  He is bringing them from Egypt and Assyria, two world powers.  He is planting them in Gilead and Lebanon, northern limits of Israel’s once vast kingdom.  The Lord is pledging to bring down their enemies and give them the right to walk up and down in the land in His name.

Wherever you are right now, God knows it.  He understands your plight and He is able to bring you back from the enemy’s land and restore you.  The enemies you face are not invincible.  Instead, they will tremble at the feet of God.  Stop sinning, stop disobeying God.  Remember Him, even in your foreign land, and He will bring you to a place where wherever you step, that territory will be yours.  He will bring you from here and there, and will set your feet in your inheritance if you will trust in Him!
