Psalm 43 (NKJV)

Prayer to God in Time of Trouble

1 Vindicate me, O God,
And plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!
2 For You are the God of my strength;
Why do You cast me off?
Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!
Let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your holy hill
And to Your tabernacle.
4 Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And on the harp I will praise You,
O God, my God.

• Lord, I need Your defense!
• Vindicate me before my enemies. Take judgment against the ungodly that fight against me.
• You are my strength. You are my God.
• Don’t forsake me or leave me alone. I cannot live without Your help and defense.
• Send me a light, show me Your truth, lead me through this time of trouble.
• Bring me to Your presence where I may worship You and dwell with You.
• When I dwell in Your presence, I feel great joy and elation.
• I lift up a song of praise to You. You are my Lord and my God.

5 Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.

• I shall look up and be glad. You are my strength.
• I will no longer be at unrest within.
• I put my hope in You, O LORD!
• I will praise You for Your mighty works.
• I will worship You for Your innate greatness.
• You are my help and my source in time of trouble.
• You are my God.
