Notes from a sermon by Dr. Greg Sloop, Lead Pastor of the Kannapolis Church of God, delivered on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in the 5:00 pm service.

Habakkuk 3:17–19 (NKJV)

17 Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—

No New Life – Buds are the sign of future fruit
No Fruit – The product of our labors
No Oil – The presence of the Holy Spirit
No Food – The provision of needed nourishment
No Livestock – Living provision and opportunity for more provision

18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Yet…

The denial of circumstances
The “in spite of” thought
No matter what I see in front of me, …

I Will Rejoice

In the God of my Salvation
Not a stranger
Not the unfamiliar
My God

19 The Lord God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills.

Why?

The Lord is my Strength
He Gives Me Sure Steps
He Takes Me Higher
