Psalm 121 (NKJV)

God the Help of Those Who Seek Him

A Song of Ascents.

1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

• Lord, when I cannot figure out the source of my help, I know that I can count on You.
• You are my help, the Creator of the earth and of the heavens.
• You make my steps secure at all times.
• You are always on the job, and You never fail.
• You are always awake and Your eyes are upon Your servants.
• You will not sleep on me, but You will keep me. Thank You, Lord, for being my protection at all times.

5 The LORD is your keeper;
The LORD is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

• Lord, I know that no one can take me from Your protection. You guard me from the heat of the day, the intense light of the sun. You also watch over me in the night, when enemies roam the earth.
• I thank You that I can work without stress and service the elements because You are with me.
• I know that I can rest my weary soul at night because You watch over me.
• Thank You for Your constant covering day and night.

7 The LORD shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

• Lord, preserve me!
• Keep me from the evil intentions of my enemies.
• Thank You that you watch over my everyday activities and my travels. Keep me safe every day as I walk with You.
