On a day when the country gives thanks for so many things, my heart remembers the things for which I am most thankful.

First, I am thankful for a great nation in which my family and I can worship God in freedom, free from oppression, fear, and harm.  Second, I am thankful for my precious family: a father gone on to his reward in heaven who led me in the ways of God, the ways of manhood, and the ways of family; a mother who taught me to sing, worship, and love; a sister who grew up alongside me, learning from our wonderful parents together; a super extended family with lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents; three great children (smart, good-looking, and God-fearing) who I love dearly; two grandchildren and two foster grandchildren who make me smile and love deeper than I thought I could; and a g0rgeous, intelligent, precious wife who keeps me happy and straight at all times.  Third, I am thankful for a wonderful church full of precious people who love God, love one another, and love souls.  They are the finest group of people I have ever served, and I am honored to be their pastor.  Finally, I am thankful for a gracious and merciful God that loves me in spite of my sins, inconsistencies, and failures.  He chose me, and He uses me for His glory.  He supplies my every need and sets my feet on a prosperous path.  He is my source, my center and circumference, my all in all.  Thank you, Lord, for all that you have given me!
